Pick up locations– This “join-in” tour originates from participating Sonoma County hotels and vacation rentals as well as the Sonoma County Airport SMART train station.  For a full list of participating locations please click here.  If you are not staying at one of the participating locations please let us know as we may be able to accommodate you, although additional charges may apply.

Pick up times– Pickup times will vary depending on your requested pickup location and the number of groups participating; however the typical start times will be between 10:30 am and 11:30 am.  Once your reservation has been accepted, you will be notified with approximate time that the driver is expected to arrive.

Vehicle type– For smaller groups we will provide an SUV and for larger groups we will provide a Mercedes Sprinter Van.  Vehicle offered will be at the discretion of Grape Escapes management.  Please keep in mind that the number of participants on any given day may vary.  It is entirely possible that you may be on a tour that does not include any other guests or there may be up to 15 guests if we are at full capacity.

Tasting Fee’s– Each winery we visit charges a “tasting fee”.  These fees typically range between $20 to $30 per person depending on the winery.  Tasting fees are not included in the cost of the tour however we are actively working with wineries to offer our guests discounted tasting fees as an incentive to bring the wineries more business and hopefully lead to increased wine sales.  Also, many wineries waive the tasting fee with the purchase of wine.

Itinerary– The chauffeur will be responsible for selecting which wineries and the number of wineries that the group will tour.  The tour will include between 3 to 4 wineries with lunch being served at one of the wineries picnic areas.

Lunch– Once a reservation is made, you will be sent a link to Big John’s Market in Healdsburg where you will be able to order a customizable gourmet box lunch.  Additional food or beverages may be ordered separately however only the advertised lunch is included in the tour price.  Bottled waters will be provided at no additional cost.

Duration– The length of the tour will be approximately 6 to 7 hours from pickup time to drop off time.

Refunds– Grape Escapes does not offer any refunds for “join in” tours unless they are cancelled within 5 days prior to the tour date.  GE reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a tour due to adverse weather conditions, fires or acts of nature.  If this occurs, you will receive a full refund on the credit card used to book.

Restrictions– Grape Escapes reserves the right to refuse service.  We want our guests to enjoy this experience in a safe and comfortable environment!  Since this is a public tour, we ask that you are considerate of others on the tour.  We do not allow vaping, smoking, chewing tobacco or any illegal drugs, weapons or pets in our vehicles.  Aggressive behavior towards the driver or other guests will be cause for immediate termination of your tour with no refund provided.  Termination will be at the sole discretion of GE staff and management.  If we determine that it is necessary to terminate your tour due to disruptive behavior, or for violating any of the above restrictions, you will be asked to exit the vehicle and call an Uber or taxi.
